Collecting Urine

Up

In step #1 above, we recommend you first thoroughly wash, rinse, and dry the litter pan.

If you are unable to collect a sample of your cat's urine at home, we can help. Just keep your cat away from the litter pan for 2 hours before your next visit to our hospital. We are often able to collect the needed sample during your pet's visit. (We don't want to encourage any accidents in the house. If your cat appears desperately in need of a "potty stop", you should cave in and give them access to the pan.)
