Meet our hospital cats, they’re in charge of Public Relations:
Chicken was found by Dr. Stein as an abandoned kitten with his sister Pequena. His huge raccoon-like tail and sweet, loving nature have made him a favorite among staff and clients alike. Chicken is our poster boy for the importance of wellness testing: when he was two years old, we collected a blood sample for routine wellness testing. We found that at least 3/4 of his kidney function was already lost! We are able to help him with diet and once-daily medication to help him feel good. Without the information we learned from his blood tests, Chicken would have declined and his life would have been significantly shortened. Animals (especially cats) hide signs of illness for as long as they are able to, so by the time you notice something is wrong, the problem may already be quite advanced. Chicken looked and acted perfectly healthy at the time of his diagnosis, we would never have known anything was wrong with him without blood tests!
Pequena is Chicken’s sister. She is also a beautiful long-haired cat. Pequena is remarkable in that she absolutely adores dogs. She sees herself as the appointed assistant during Dr. Stein’s acupuncture sessions, and many dogs find her presence reassuring (although some would like to chase her!)
